With over five million albums sold worldwide and a fan base eagerly awaiting new music, Sande finally hit back with the powerful and anthemic single entitled "Hurts". The album also includes "Garden" (featuring Jay Electronica and Aine Zion) and "Breathing Underwater". The album is influenced by Sande's Zambian background. The song "Tenderly" features her father and cousins, credited as The Serenje Choir, named after the town of Serenje in the Serenje District of Zambia. Emili's debut album Our Version of Events spent ten non-consecutive weeks at number one and became the best-selling album of 2012 in the UK, with over one million sales.
