On 18th September 1971, The Who headlined Goodbye Summer: A Rock Concertin aid of Famine Relief for the People of Bangladesh at The Oval cricket ground in Kennington, south London. With 35,000 in attendance, the performance captured the band at the peak of their powers, performing a ferocious set blending early singles, Who's Next highlights, and extended jams, with epic live versions of Summertime Blues, Behind Blue Eyes, Won't Get Fooled Again and Magic Bus. The show culminates in Pete Townshend and Keith Moon's trademark destruction of their equipment - underlining The Who's reputation as the era's defining live rock band!
