There are two kinds of Corroboree frogs-the Southern Corroboree and the Northern Corroboree. Compared to the Southern Corroboree, the Northern ones are smaller. Corroboree frogs are black in color, and have distinct yellow markings on their skin. This frog got its name from the Aboriginal term that refers to a gathering wherein those who attend paint themselves. They originated from the Southern Tablelands of Australia, and prefer living in mountains, grasslands, and sub-alpine woodlands. Furthermore, they are classified as carnivorous creatures and their diet typically consists of ants, mites, beetles, larvae of insects, as well as other small invertebrates. Female Corroboree frogs may lay up to 38 eggs, which they place in nests built by the male frogs within moss and grass. After 4 to 6 months, the tadpoles emerge from the egg coat that protects them.

  • Made from wonderfully soft plush
  • Fine airbrushing that has been applied by hand to create shading and definition
  • 25 x 16 x 8 cm
